Welcome to The Red House

Stargaze from our main dining room through a magnificent mahogany skylight & enjoy wonderful food, a unique atmosphere, and a journey into the past of Old Cambridge. Built c.1802, and used as a residence for almost 200 years, 98 Winthrop Street has been recreated as The Red House restaurant. The original structure has been carefully restored to its former beauty & simplicity, and is now home to three elegant private dining rooms. The back of the structure has been expanded to house a brand new kitchen, as well as a new 65-seat main dining room & a cozy fireside bar area. Outdoor dining is always an option on our shaded bluestone patio.

Create a lasting impression when you hold your next family or business gathering in one of the red house's intimate private dining rooms. Each of our three private rooms features authentic period detail, with fireplaces and original wide pine floorboards & woodwork. We can assist you with all aspects of special menu planning, wine, & dessert selection.

Choose from the Delft Room, the Music Room, and the Front Room, each with its own unique theme & décor. These special rooms can accommodate from 8 – 14 guests. A credit card security & minimum number of guests are required, but no separate fees apply.
